The Basement showcases best of Rexburg in sold-out show

The Basement hosted their Fall Kickoff Show Friday night, offering some of the best from Rexburg’s music scene. The venue’s first-ever sold-out show featured performances from local bands, For Your Health and The Howls, and also served as the final performance from Carry on, Kid. Founding member and frontman Christian Anderson announced earlier this month that he would be departing the Idaho-emo band. He plans to pursue a solo career under the name, mister rogers.

Dance-punk band For Your Health took the stage first. They performed a loud, rock set that demanded the audience’s attention, getting them up on their feet and dancing. That energy flowed into Carry on, Kid’s final set – complete with balloons, Pixy Stix, party blowers and hats to celebrate the Rexburg band’s journey. The night was closed out by the indie-rock band, The Howls. With their wavy melodies and catchy lyrics, they were able to mellow out the night while still keeping the crowd wanting more.

Friday night’s performances showed how real and dedicated Rexburg’s music scene is. It was exactly what we needed to kick off the fall season. Check out the photo recap below:
